davatron5000 It's part of the same spec that defines the rest: html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/custom-elements.html#custom-elements-customized-builtin-example. I haven't heard about it being in danger of deprecatkon, but could very easily be out of the loop on that. I do think it was "agreed upon" to be part of the spec, though.
