        1. A bunch of years ago, I was frustrated by being unable to track "things" in one spot: movies, games, etc. I wanted to be able to make lists of them and then mark then as seen/played and give ratings, etc. Still nothing for games, but letterboxd is great for movies.

I even started building something to do this. I wanted it to be generic, so it just focused on the lists part. E.g. it didn't matter what list you were making, you could still mark an item as taken (i.e. watched, played, etc.) and give it a rating, etc.

At least, that was the plan. I never really got anywhere for a bunch of reasons, not the least of which is that I was using PHP and Backbone at the time, which... didn't really make me happy in an overall sense.

In any case, now that I've found letterboxd and since the code really has nothing of any secret value, I open-sourced my repo: gitlab.com/rockerest/lyst Check it out! There are the primordial hints in there of patterns I *still use today!*
