      1. I wrote this in response to that other tweet I RTed, and didn't even scroll up for the full context. Now knowing it's in reaction to Hotwire this is EVEN MORE TRUE.       2005 is generous, to be honest. Gmail was fully AJAX in 2005, so the fact that Rails (and DHH, and Hotwire, and Turbo, and etc etc) are still plugging their ears and screaming lalalala while tears stream down their faces is more like circa 1998 than circa 2005.

    But sure, the web from 1998 sounds awesome. If we can go back to that ENTIRELY then I'm all for it. But we have to ditch FAANG completely, or it's fake.
