For months, I've been hopeful that a certain web-famous person joining a certain massive tech company would be GOOD for the web. The company is known for hating the web, but I thought maybe this person could stem the tide. Seems the company's strong cult culture has won out.Permalink On twitter.com

One of the strongest reinforcements of a cult is the "attacking outsiders." Framing every critique as an attack from an unenlightened outsider who hasn't seen "the truth" (usually from a leader with "special insight") is how you maintain control. It's sad watching new inductees.On twitter.com
