This wired take is so absolutely dead on. If the only option is a phone app, I won't do it. I don't have enough hours in my life to go around updating my TOTP accounts every time I reset my phone or get a new one. I literally have a physical device that generates encrypted keys and it doesn't reset when my phone does. If you actually cared about security, you'd support WebAuthn, but you don't.On twitter.com
