        ryanmr To be clear, I send the project + document about 20-25 minutes before, but the expectation is that it only takes at most 10 minutes to read (~200wpm average reading speed, with buffer for technical document complexity).

      ryanmr I've found that a 2hr session yields the best results, but 1hr is enough to get a reliable feel for the candidate.

    ryanmr Sorry, missed the second part of your question: we're looking for language proficiency and architectural decision-making (among all the other basics like good logic, clean code, etc.) So the project is, at the root, "take this large dataset and manipulate it to fit these targets"

      ryanmr My personal implementation of this is ~90 lines of code give or take and that's with TONS of whitespace for readability. It's not intended to be a difficult problem, but it all hinges on the candidate reading the initial document to understand the problem space.
