  1. Feeling very blessed to have a job in an industry like Web Development today. Sometimes I'm super frustrated with many things about it, but it's stable and pays well. There are many who - by influences outside their control - don't have that. The stress is omnipresent for them.

      A big part of the problem is that education isn't focused on building the skills necessary for development. Another, probably bigger, part of the problem is that higher education isn't available to all people. Possibly the biggest problem is that poverty precludes education.

        When your entire life is consumed by just keeping yourself from drowning, it's pretty hard to quit a job... any job... to go to school full time. When going to school means taking on more debt than you've ever seen in your life, the mountain seems completely insurmountable.

          I've seen the despair and hopelessness in these situations, and it's heartbreaking. As a country, we need to take better care of our people. It's embarrassing that anyone in our country is struggling just to survive. The American Dream is dead for a lot of people.
