    getify I don't think so. In my opinion, at least. I don't think of numbers / math as always having symmetric tests in this way.

      getify I guess the question is really "do you care how the number is FORMATTED, or do you care what a number IS?". If your function was isFloatFormat then I'd absolutely expect ("42") to be false.
