The more I work with big codebases from big teams, the more I'm convinced that there's a serious sickness. The customers aren't the priority. The product isn't the priority. Not even the code is important. It's all about how big your pile of garbage is. mobile.twitter.com/rockerest/status/1370091628917063688

Make as many components as possible in [religion]. You probably only need 1 or 2, but the religion will sacrifice you if it isn't deeply "clever". Build the most complex bundling and transpiling setup possible. It doesn't seem smart if computers and humans can both read it.

Never back down from these decisions. Has evidence shown for almost a decade that the choices you've made are broken on every measurable data point? Yell that THEY'RE the blind ones who hate the future. Invent new complexity to "address" the problem and solidify the mistakes.

Build companies whose incentives are never to create longstanding products. Waste and disposal should be key to generating massive capital for the investors, the users will suffer through because the huge influx of VC funny money has squeezed out any possible alternative.

These aren't problems inherent in the industry, they're problems inherent in the people IN the industry, but I'm not a cult deprogrammer.
