My lawn is native Colorado plains grass. Or: I don't water it so it's patchy clumps of grass with a lot of dirt. Fortunately the front is mostly some kind of low-lying weed, so it LOOKS like a lawn, but actually has almost no grass. nathan_klebe/1432543715176951810

I want a "nice" lawn (by suburban skewed standards), but not enough to dump $10k into it and then $300 a week of water during a historic drought and critically low water supplies.

I'll PROBABLY wind up pumping a bunch of money into a Xeriscape that requires little or no water and no maintenance, but that's a long way out.
