Finished The Making of a Manager last night. It was published in March 2019. Cambridge Analytica + FB was exposed 1 year earlier, March 2018. As we've seen recently, high-level executives across Facebook have very clear data insights into how bad their company is.Permalink On twitter.com

With a year of lead time, this book still chose to regurgitate the company line about "connecting people" and building communities (MANY, MANY times) and outright thank people like Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg for being visionaries and great leaders.Permalink On twitter.com

I... I can't possibly trust anything in this book if Facebook execs are still held up as good examples of great leadership. And it's not like Julie Zhou is some front-line worker without any inside knowledge of the rot at FB, she was the VP of Product Design!On twitter.com
