    matthewcp I don't really have much knowledge, but isn't the "property" part of the CSS object model? I've always thought of selectors as regions of the model whose internal rules overwrite properties of the overarching model only when applicable.

      matthewcp So a CSS Custom Property is a name you define yourself on the model, but otherwise the same as any other property. Really "rules" feels like the wrong name 😅
