Trying to buy a pair of studio headphones with high (-er than typical) impedance, and understanding what power output + impedance to get on a pre-headphone amp and/or DAC seems to require an electrical engineering degree. Does anybody know how the hell this stuff works?Permalink On twitter.com

I want a pair of headphones (beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 ohm) and I cannot figure out if a DAC / pre-amp that can run 165mW at 120 Ohm is enough. It says it can run headphones with impedance up to 600 Ohm, but then says 165mW@120Ohm. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't know what I'm doing.On twitter.com
