I'm an ACAB kind of guy, but it's not fair to imply this undermines the sentiment of the OP. A GOOD police officer should be regularly, peacefully engaging - face to face - with their community, building trust with the people they're protecting. JoshuaPHilll/1528368120674635777

Even a fully vaccinated and masked officer SHOULD be at elevated risk for Covid because they SHOULD be getting exposed much more frequently. They are frontline first responders even when there is not a crime or an emergency.

Granted: do most police in 2022 operate as peaceful community builders interacting regularly with the folks they're supposed to be protecting? Eh, I don't know. But I think it's important to at least acknowledge that significant Covid deaths CAN be a symptom of good policing.

It's also important to acknowledge that police killed over 1,000 people last year, so it probably doesn't matter as much why cops are dying until their K/D is below 1. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
