      An interesting data point: I've found these people are pretty savvy with Twitter, so I can only assume the frankly manic approach to replies is intentional. Maybe to say "I didn't put those statements together, you did." or maybe to try to exhaust the person they're replying to.

        Anyway: the claims that "changing laws to be like other countries have" and also "sadly, there's no other way than what we have and we'll never try another way." are simultaneously ridiculous (worthy of ridicule) and internally inconsistent.

            The only assumption when these people reject the idea that we could try better, more restrictive policies (like - fuck - even the kind of policies we require to drive a god damn fucking car), is that they like it when kids die.
